Durability and breathability come together to form the Hodgman® H5 stocking foot wader. We know you’ll be scrambling up rocky, brush covered banks, or climbing in and out of drift boats, so we utilize 5-layer construction on the leg and seat for exceptional puncture resistance. We eliminated inside leg seams in high abrasion areas while still allowing articulation in the knees for stellar range of motion and mobility.

The wader upper incorporates 3-layer shell fabric for added breathability where you need it most, and features a Durable Water repellent (DWR) coating to shed water. Microfleece-lined handwarmer pockets utilize YKK® water-resistant zippers, and a large capacity YKK® zip chest pocket is perfect for storage.

This wader also accepts the Core INS removable zoned insulation system so you can transform your wader for cold or warm weather wading (sold separately). The liner zips and snaps in place to create an all-season wader.

Comfort is key for long days wade fishing, so we use anatomically correct left and right booties for a comfort fit. Each stocking foot bootie utilizes 5mm thick neoprene to keep your feet warmer in cold water. Additionally, our Comfort Fit Gravel Guard design eliminates a bulky and uncomfortable connection point at the top of the booties.

Convert your Hodgman® wader using the one and only all-season wader insulating system. The removable Core INS system utilizes zoned insulation in your lower body where you need it most. We utilize Thinsulate® insulation in the leg and hip which are submerged most often so the frigid bite from cold water doesn’t reach your legs. Additionally, if you work up a sweat getting to your fishing spot the moisture resistant breathable insulation keeps you warm even when moist. A fleece upper ensures comfort where you need less insulation above the water.

To install the Core INS system in a few minutes follow these easy steps. You can also watch the instructional video at www.hodgman.com

  1. Lay the wader and the liner face up next to each other on the ground.
  2. Unbuckle the shoulder straps to allow access to the inside of the wader. (On the drop top designs included on the Aesis Sonic waders remove the Velcro attachment point located on the rear buckle instead of unbuckling the front of the wader).
  3. Reach inside the wader and pull the right leg of the wader inside out to expose the connection snap points located at the inside top of the stocking foot bootie.
  4. Connect the liner to the wader by snapping the corresponding green snaps to green connection points on the wader and the red to red connection points. Then snap the front and back connection points in place. (Be sure the leg on the Core INS liner is not twisted.)
  5. Reach inside the wader and pull the left leg inside out and connect the corresponding red, green and black connection points as you did in step 3.
  6. Grab the stocking foot of each wader leg and pull to turn the wader right side out. The liner will be pulled inside your wader as the wader is turned right side out.
  7. Secure the upper portion of the removable liner to the wader using the two zippers located on the upper inside of the wader. The zippers are under the flap of fabric just inside the top of the wader.

When the liner is installed in your wader it is recommended you point your toe when putting on the wader. This will prevent your toe from pushing fabric over the entrance hole into the stocking foot bootie.

Hodgman® H5 Stocking Foot is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from H5 Stocking Foot and H3 Felt Wade Boot I have been out twice now with this outfit and all has been sublime. Dry as a bone, comfortable, flexible and able to fish away. Would rate higher for the quality and value but just have not used enough yet. I will get there and report back. The important thing to pass on is I purchased the H5 Med. King and I am 5'-8" at 190lbs. Not only did it fit great but the stocking booties (8-10) fit perfectly in the H3 boots. Some fleece pants, Smartwool and Carhart socks doubled up were perfect for the cold NW Rivers on the Pacific side of the peninsula.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from As good as any other. Didn't last a full year. I'm retired and spend 200 days a year in the water. I've been through 7 pairs of waders in 10 years. From low end Cabelas to high end Simms, Orvis, Hodgeman. The seams in the crotch wear out based on hours of use on all of them. It's that simple. I love these waders, my favorite pair in the last 10 years, but the crotch seams are starting to leak. The $79 pair lasted just as long as these. I'll wade 250 miles of river and throw them away when the crotch wears out. If you only fish weekends, these will last a very long time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leaking feet Bought these and have really enjoyed them until recently. After about 10 uses they developed a seam leak in the bottom of the left foot. After I repaired them, the very next trip I had a leak in the right boot. Luckily I purchased them from Costco and they will be going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME!! I bought these a few months back and have had no issues so far. Fit is perfect and have been holding up with some pretty heavy terrain that I have put them threw. Very warm with a few winter trips and also have the option of the inside liner which is great. Great product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks I repaired the first leaks after 3 months. 4 months later the other leg was leaking so I had them replaced under warranty. After 4 months with the replacement waders both legs leak. Should have bought Simms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wader Fit I just bought the H5 wader and tried them on in my house. The fit was very good - the bootie was plenty roomy and the inseam as it was described. But the waders are somewhat stiff and getting them off again, with clothing underneath, can be a real chore. The waist belt snaps together, which is very convenient, but if you want to get a real tight fit to keep out water you may want to replace the waist belt with one that the belt slides through a buckle so you can tighten it easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Built! These finally arrived, and my first going over is that these are very well built. Lots of attention to durability everywhere one would hope for, and Hodgman are to be commended for designing these from an end-user's perspective. At 6'4" and 255 lbs, I ordered the XXLT as the chart recommends, and they're plenty long and roomy enough. The only complaint is that the legs are quite baggy, which could pose a problem wading in faster water ... guess I should've done more squats! (LOL)
